Background of Zhang zhen
Zhang zhen was born in a small town in the north part of Jiangsu province. As a son of bricklayer, he got used to the poor life and realized the responsibility to family in his childhood. He left hometown at 15 years old to a city several hundreds of KMs away seizing his dream. After 3 years of study, he entered Nanjing University which is top 5 universities in China.
His major was math which was not so easy to master. But mathematics taught him how to think, analysis and solve problems. Being ware of that it was better for him to do some practical things not just discuss the theories on the paper, he joined Siemens Nanjing after his graduation.
Accomplished several projects, he was nominated to assume project lead of component of Siemens Mobile phone's simulators which were called Siemens Mobile Tool Kit(SMTK). During this period, he successfully delivered 2 generations of products: SMTK for 65 and 75 series.
Siemens Mobile line was sold to BENQ in the end of 2005. Zhang zhen had to be transferred to SIEMENS/BENQ Beijing. For the Beijing time, he developed some applications (SMS and CBS) in a new platform which is wished to strive the market share back for SIEMENS brand.
The results sometime are not controlled by the technical side nor the efforts paid by the developers. SIEMENS Mobile failed in the end of 2006. With thinking for one month, Zhangzhen decided to change his direction to the enterprise business software.
In SAP, Zhang zhen joined FIN develop team of ERP. His mentor is Doctor Balzar, Andreas who is a architect has more then 10 years experience in SAP．Trained for almost one year(include one month in German), he began to delivery BI content for financial products from SEP of 2007.
Till now, Zhang zhen works as a developer for SAP Labs, focusing on the Business Intelligence(BI) solutions which he believe can help the customer's company walk longer and better in the competitive market.
Project Stories
1 TRM (BI content for Tax and Revenue Management)
According to this project, the main requirements can be divided to 3 parts. First is to extract business Partner's information into business warehouse and report them in queries which we called master data reporting.
Second is to report the tax and return status in categories. Third is to get the report of the office workers' performance via the work items information collection.
The difficult point is, for this product of SAP，the volume of the business partner can reach to millions level. We should modeling carefully avoid bringing in any performance issues.
Another point is how to integrate the data source, info objects from different area or how to get the real needed data from the central objects.
It is the first time for Zhang Zhen to develop the content totally by himself.
This project is still in the process.
2 SIMPLICITY REPORTING (EHP3)
In SAP ERP products, there are so many reports which using various techs.
The benefits of this idea are:
We can give the user a unified UI experience and take the powerful features of business intelligence platform to our end users.
In this project, we use some kind of method to give the users opportunity to choose tranditional BW upload way or direct access way.
